THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME! Today marks the beginning of a new era for Crowd Control as you know it. We’re thrilled to announce that Crowd Control 2.0 will be here this Spring and we’re officially opening registrations for streamers interested in participating in our Closed Beta period. We’ve been teasing a massive update to Crowd Control for a few months now. Our entire team has been hard at work to make this possible — and we’re happy to share we’re on the final stretch, and closed beta testing for Crowd Control 2.0 will begin in just a couple of weeks 😱. The Closed Beta period will begin with Crowd Control Ambassadors; then it will roll into Crowd Control’s most frequent streamers and then… that’s where YOU come in.
Rewind please… What is Crowd Control?
I’m glad you asked! For those who might not know, Crowd Control is an interactive gaming app that lets your viewers directly interact with the games you play on stream. This, by allowing viewers to redeem effects that will trigger in game, in real time. No cards or challenges you will have to manually do, but direct integration with the game.
Crowd Control currently supports over 100 games, from retro classics like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to modern favorites like Minecraft, Skyrim and Dark Souls.
How will Crowd Control 2.0 be different from 1.0?
It will be the Crowd Control you know and love reloaded. While we’re not ready to share all details about our 2.0 version (we have to keep some surprises to ourselves for now, sorry!), here are 3 new features we’re thrilled to share with everyone.
1. We’re going Multi-Platform baby!
Use Crowd Control EVERYWHERE. You’ll finally be able to use Crowd Control on your YouTube Gaming, TikTok LIVE, Discord streams and any platform you want. Viewers will be able to interact through our new external system, making Crowd Control streams possible EVERYWHERE. (And no worries, our Twitch extension isn’t going anywhere!)
2. Make money off-platform with Global Coins
With creators all around the world wanting to increase and diversify their income sources, we’re happy to introduce Global Coins. Global Coins aren’t attached to the channel they were purchased in and can be used to interact with any Crowd Control streamer. On the contrary to coins purchased with Bits, Global Coins will not become revenue when they’re purchased, rather they will become revenue when they’re spent. Global Coins will be able to be purchased on your new external URL via Credit Card through Stripe.
We’ve already been testing this feature with Crowd Control Ambassadors and the results have been incredible. And to clarify, Coins purchased with Bits will still exist and won’t go anywhere if your viewers already purchased some! Global Coins enable us to support creators that aren’t on Twitch and also provides us revenue share flexibility for the highly anticipated Crowd Control Partner Program.
3. New Look & Feel, App, Extension and Improved UX
Crowd Control is getting a new look, a new logo, a new desktop app and new extension. Our Marketing team has been working the last few months on on creating a brand that embodies what Crowd Control means to creators and their viewers and have taken the time to develop a new logo and look and feel that we hope lasts forever. In addition to that, we’ve COMPLETELY redesigned the Crowd Control desktop app to make setting up Crowd Control as easy as possible for all creators. And of course, our Twitch Extension will also get a new look and improved user experience to maximize the engagement of your viewers.
We will not be unveiling the full brand or logo until public launch, but you can already start getting hints in our Closed Beta Sign Up page and our Social Media. 👀
This is all incredible — How can I sign up to the 2.0 Closed Beta?
As mentioned before, the 2.0 Closed Beta period will be kicking off in a couple of weeks. It will start with our amazing Crowd Control Ambassadors. Then it will roll into some of our most frequent users and then to everyone that signs up before public release this Spring.
All you have to do to get your hands on 2.0 and help us test before it becomes available to everyone, is to SIGN UP! And that’s it. We’re not looking for specific CCV or following, just creators that love Crowd Control and are excited to help us achieve this long awaited launch.
