Great question! Technically speaking, an MD5 is a checksum that verifies the integrity of data. In layman’s terms, it makes sure the game is what it says it is. Different versions of a game with different MD5s will be slightly different from each other.

What does that mean for Crowd Control?

When we build a Crowd Control pack for a game, we build it around one specific version of that game. What this means is that you need the right version of a game to use Crowd Control with it, not just the right game generally. You’ll be able to find the correct MD5 value on our Games Guide pages.
