Effects only become available after the round starts. They are not available during the lobby.
1. Start with the App
This game is in Early Access and requires CC Pro!
- Open Crowd Control Desktop App
- Select Meccha Chameleon from the game list
- Follow the Auto Setup checklist (left side of app)
2. Test Before You Stream
- You can only test effects after pressing “Start Session” in the Crowd Control app
- Always test a few effects before going live to confirm effects trigger as expected
- You must start a round before effects will become available. There are different effects for Hunters vs Hiders.
Skipping this step can lead to broken streams and confusion!
Multiplayer
- All effects are local to the player, so only players that want CC need the mod installed.
- Some effects will only work on you if you are the hider or the hunter.
Mod Compatibility
- Our mod is built using UE4SS
- Other mods may work, but have not been tested with Crowd Control.
- If you have issues, try with just Crowd Control.
No mod conflicts reported so far!
- If you find a mod that causes issues, let us know!
Troubleshooting
The mod will attempt to detect if you are a hider or hunter. If effects are not being displayed correctly you can press F9 to cause a refresh and it should update the menu to show the correct effects. If you have any issues with this, please report the game mode and if you were a hider/hunter at the time in a Game Ticket on our Discord.
Users have reported that the game can crash both with and without mods. When you launch the game through Crowd Control, we automatically force DirectX 11 to improve compatibility. If you’re launching the game directly through Steam, we recommend adding -dx11 to your Steam launch options.
Effects will hide and show as your type (Hunter/Hider) changes. While waiting in a lobby all effects are disabled. The round must start for effects to be available. You can start a round with just yourself.
Game Version
Our support has been tested with the Steam version of the game. Other game stores may work but have not been tested.

Uninstall
To uninstall the Crowd Control mod:
- From the CC desktop app, select your game.
- Click the trash icon 🗑️ next to “Mod Installed” to run the uninstaller.
