Gifting Crowd Control Coins
We’re excited to announce the ability for users to gift Crowd Control Coins to others! This feature is available in both the Twitch Extension and Interact Links, with some key differences:
Twitch Extension: Gift Local Coins with Twitch Bits
- Gifted coins are Paid Local Coins, meaning the creator will receive their portion of the Bits spent in their next eligible payout via Twitch.
- Local Coins can only be used on the channel where they are purchased/gifted. For example, coins gifted on the “CrowdControl” Twitch channel are only spendable on that channel.
- Note for Streamers: Due to Twitch’s handling of Bits, streamers cannot gift Local Coins in their own channel using their Twitch account. This is similar to how a streamer cannot cheer Bits in their own channel.
Interact Links: Gift Global Coins
- Gifted coins are Paid Global Coins, which can be used on any channel.
- When these coins are spent, the creator of the channel where they’re used will receive credit for the coins.
- Crowd Control Pro Bonus: If you’re a Crowd Control Pro subscriber, gifted coins include the additional 3% bonus you normally receive.
Whether you’re supporting your favorite creator or spreading the fun to friends, gifting Crowd Control Coins is a great way to enhance everyone’s experience!
How to Gift Coins
To gift coins, in either the Twitch Extension or Interact Link, click the Coins tab.
Click on the Gift Coins button at the top right.
Click on the user you wish to gift the coins to. Note, that the user must have interacted with CrowdControl recently for them to be listed. If you don’t see the user you want to gift, ask them to open the extension and try loading the list again.
Once you’ve selected a user, the UI will change slightly to show that you are in gift mode.
When you pick the amount of paid coins you want to gift, you’ll be prompted with one last confirmation before confirming payment.
Confirm your payment with whatever method you ended up picking and the viewer your selected will be gifted coins.
