How Effects Target Characters
The effect list shows each character effect once, as Player or Enemy. Set the price once on that one effect.
Player effects are cloned for the rest of the party automatically.
Enemy effects are cloned for every enemy when a battle starts. The clones use the real character names.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer works. The host must have the Crowd Control mod installed. A warning appears if the host is missing the mod.
Party members who want effects on their own character need the mod as well. Players who do not want effects do not need it.
Each player can run their own Crowd Control session from their own app.
Mod Compatibility
Other mods may work with ours, but have not been tested. If you have issues with a mod, let us know!
Our mod requires the current version of the game (Patch 7 or newer on Steam).
Party Limit mods: Our pack supports up to 4 party members. Effects will not target party members beyond the 4th.
Our mod no longer uses the Lua Debugger. Mods that relied on the old debugger port do not conflict with it anymore.
Twitch Integration
Our mod WILL NOT work with the built in Twitch mode (aka Baldur's Gate 3 Companion). You can only have 1 full overlay extension enabled at a time on Twitch!
In-Game Overlay
Players with the mod see a small card in the top right that shows connection status and recent effects.
Press F11 to hide or show the card.
Press F9 to reconnect if effects stop responding.
