Crowd Control Setup Guides

1. Start with the App

• Download the Crowd Control Desktop App and connect your Twitch account.

• Open the app and select The Long Drive from the game list.

• Follow the Auto Setup checklist on the left. It installs the Crowd Control mod into your Documents\TheLongDrive\Mods folder for you.

• Launch The Long Drive through Steam.

2. Test Before You Stream

• Press Start Session in the Crowd Control app.

• Effects can only be tested after pressing Start Session.

• Test a few effects and make sure they show up in game before going live.

Mod Compatibility

• This pack is a TLDLoader mod, the same framework as the rest of The Long Drive mod scene. It does not use BepInEx.

• TLDLoader is installed by the TLD Mod Workshop. Install it first if you have not already, and start the game once to confirm the "Mod Loader TLDLoader is ready!" line on the main menu.

• Download the CC mod package here: https://mods.crowdcontrol.live/TheLongDrive/TheLongDrive-CC.zip

• Game updates and "Verify integrity of game files" undo the TLDLoader patch. Run the Workshop install again afterwards. Your mods folder is untouched.

• Other TLDLoader mods generally work alongside this one. Untested mods may not be compatible.

Game Version

• Tested with the Steam public branch (2023.05.02d).

• The beta branch ("Upcoming version test") is not supported. TLDLoader does not run there.

• Other stores and versions are untested. Want another version supported? Submit a request in our Discord #cc-requests channel.

Notes

• Press F9 in game to force a reconnect to Crowd Control.

• Press F8 in game to cycle the overlay: normal, diagnostics, hidden.

• The pack own effects can never kill the player. Death is permanent in single player, so "Hurt" never takes the last 10 percent. Spawned enemies can still kill.

• In multiplayer, the host must run this mod for anyone in the session to receive effects. World effects like Nightfall change the shared clock for everyone.

• If the mod says "No Crowd Control app on this machine" while the app is running, set AlwaysAttemptConnection = true under [Advanced] in the mod settings file.

Uninstall

• Select The Long Drive in the Crowd Control app.

• Click the trash icon next to "Mod Installed" to run the uninstaller.
