Getting Started

or check our

1. Start with the App

  • NOTE: Launch the game from Steam first, before install the mod. This should install required DirectX files the game needs to run.

  • Download the Crowd Control Desktop App and connect your Twitch account.

  • Open the app and select Resident Evil 5 from the game list.

  • Launch the game using the CC app.

2. Test Before You Stream

  • Press Start Session in the Crowd Control app.

  • Effects can only be tested after pressing Start Session.

  • Test a few effects and make sure they show up in game before going live.

Mod Compatibility

  • This pack uses a native winmm.dll proxy placed next to re5dx9.exe.

  • The mod works alongside RE5Fix, RE5Patch, RE3Controls, Ultimate ASI Loader, ReShade and the VR mod.

  • Other mods are untested and may not be compatible.

Game Version

  • Tested with the Steam version 1.2.0 (the Feb 2023 update).

Notes

  • Press F8 in game to hide or show the Crowd Control overlay.

  • Press F9 in game to drop and redial the Crowd Control connection.

  • Effects wait, and are refunded if they cannot run, while the game is paused, in a cutscene, loading, or while the player is down. Timed effects pause with the game.

  • In online co-op, play offline or with a friend you trust. Never use effects in public online sessions.

  • While we did test co-op, not all scenarios may be stable. If you run into any issues, let us know!

  • Enemy effects bought on a guest stream need the mod installed on the host game too. Without it those effects are refused, not lost.

Uninstall

  • Select Resident Evil 5 in the Crowd Control app.

  • Click the trash icon next to "Mod Installed" to run the uninstaller.
