Getting Started

New to Crowd Control? Check out the

or check our

1. Start with the App

  • Download the Crowd Control Desktop App and connect your Twitch account.

  • Open the app and select Resident Evil 0 from the game list.

  • Launch the game using the CC app. The setup checklist installs the mod for you.

2. Test Before You Stream

  • Press Start Session in the Crowd Control app.

  • Effects can only be tested after pressing Start Session.

  • Test a few effects and make sure they show up in game before going live.

Mod Compatibility

  • This pack uses a native winmm.dll proxy placed next to re0hd.exe.

  • It does not touch dinput8 or d3d9. Mods built on those, like Ultimate ASI Loader with Fusion Fix, re0box, and d3d9 FPS or graphics fixes, keep working.

  • Other mods are untested and may not be compatible.

Game Version

  • Tested with the Steam version of Resident Evil 0 (January 2025 build). The mod checks the game's code when it starts and stays off on versions it does not recognise.

  • Other stores and versions are untested. Want another version supported? Submit a request in our Discord #cc-requests channel.

  • If your version is not working, let us know at http://crowdcontrol.live/help.

Custom Models

  • Character model mods can be offered to viewers as Play as ... effects, without replacing anything in the game.

  • The mod creates a custom folder next to re0hd.exe the first time the game runs, with a README inside.

  • Make one folder per model. Its name becomes the effect name. custom\rebecca_remake becomes Play as Rebecca Remake. Or put your own name on the first line of a name.txt in the folder.

  • Put the mod's .arc files in the folder as downloaded. These are the files the mod would normally tell you to copy over the game's own. Do not copy them there.

  • A body file (em02 Rebecca, em05 Billy, or a costume) goes on the body. A head file (em08 Rebecca, em09 Billy) goes on the head. A body on its own gets that character's own head. A costume head gets the body it belongs to.

  • The game files are never changed. The mod makes its own copy under nativePC\arc\cc.

  • The effect appears in Crowd Control a few seconds after the files finish copying. No restart needed.

  • Folders can be added or removed while the game is running. Deleting a folder hides its effect again. Your price settings for it are kept.

  • Replacing the files of a model that was already played this session needs a game restart.

  • Custom model effects are 100 coins for 60 seconds by default. Change them like any other effect.

  • Most models from NexusMods and REModding should work.

Notes

  • Press F8 in game to hide or show the Crowd Control overlay.

  • The mod writes its settings to re0hd_cc.ini next to the mod. There you can turn off the overlay, move it to another corner, disable the viewer name lines, or keep timed effects running after the player dies.

  • The name of the viewer who spawned an enemy floats over its head. Nameplates can be turned off in re0hd_cc.ini.

  • Effects wait (and are refunded if they cannot run) while the game is paused, in a cutscene, going through a door, or the player is dead. Timed effects pause with the game.

  • Having trouble? The mod log is at %LOCALAPPDATA%\re0hd-cc\re0hd_cc.log. Send it to us when reporting an issue.

Uninstall

  • Select Resident Evil 0 in the Crowd Control app.

  • Click the trash icon next to "Mod Installed" to run the uninstaller.
