Crowd Control Setup Guides

1. Start with the App

• Head to https://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/ and download the latest version of Script Hook V.

• Open Crowd Control Desktop App

• Select Grand Theft Auto V from the game list

• Select if you are using Legacy or Enhanced GTAV

• Follow the Auto Setup checklist (left side of app)

• When asked provide the ScriptHookV zip (we may auto-find the zip for you).

2. Test Before You Stream

• You can only test effects after pressing "Start Session" in the Crowd Control app

• Always test a few effects before going live to confirm effects trigger as expected

Skipping this step can lead to broken streams and confusion!

Mod Compatibility

• Our mod package can be found here: CrowdControl-scripthookvdotnet.zip

• Other mods may work, but have not been tested with Crowd Control.

• If you have issues, try with just Crowd Control.

No mod conflicts reported so far!

• If you find a mod that causes issues, let us know!

Game Version

• Tested with the Steam & Epic version of the game

• Both “Legacy” and “Enhanced” versions work

• Other game stores have not been tested

Notes

Many settings below can be toggled using the CrowdControl.ini file found in the games main install directory.

• Press F9 in-game to force the mod to reconnect to the Crowd Control app.

• Press F10 to pin the state debug overlay on screen.

• Press F8 to cycle the effect state override: automatic, forced on, or held off.

• EnableAutoRecovery: the mod reconnects on its own when the Crowd Control link dies. Enabled by default.

• StuckStateOverrideSeconds: how long effects stay paused during a stuck game state before the mod resumes them. Defaults to 180 seconds.

• Script reload key: new installs bind the ScriptHookVDotNet script reload key to Scroll Lock instead of Insert.

• With Num Lock off, numpad 0 sends the same key code as Insert, which reloads every script and can look like Crowd Control reconnecting on its own.

• Further settings can be found in CrowdControl.ini in your game install folder. The mod creates it next to GTA5.exe and adds new options to it automatically when the mod updates.

• Radio: The in-game radio has been disabled to avoid issues with copyright. This can be enabled in the CrowdControl.ini

• BattlEye: As of September 17, 2024, the game now ships with BattlEye, an anti-cheat software. We can bypass this by adding the -nobattleye launch option.

Common Issues

• Some missions may cause the game to close while running the latest version of ScriptHook. You can temporarily uninstall the mod to continue. We have identified these so far: Casing the Jewel Store

Uninstall

To uninstall the Crowd Control mod:

• From the CC desktop app, select your game.

• Click the trash icon 🗑️ next to "Mod Installed" to run the uninstaller.
