Crowd Control Setup Guides

1. Start with the App

• Open the Crowd Control Desktop App and select Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.

• Follow the Auto Setup checklist on the left.

• Run the game once and create a save before installing. Auto Setup needs your original save data to exist.

2. Test Before You Stream

• Press Start Session and test a few effects before going live.

• Make sure the game and the app are connected.

• Always launch the game through the Crowd Control app.

Mod Compatibility

• Crowd Control for Dark Souls II is a standalone mod. No other mods are required.

• Download the Crowd Control mod package here: DarkSouls2-CC.zip

• The game stays offline while Crowd Control is running. Never play online with mods installed.

• Other mods may work. Test them before going live.

Enemy and Item Randomizer

• This pack works alongside the Dark Souls II Randomizer (Enemy and Item).

• The randomizer uses its own dinput8.dll loader. Crowd Control uses a separate dxgi.dll loader, so the two do not conflict.

• Install and set up the randomizer as its own instructions describe.

• Then install Crowd Control with Auto Setup as usual.

• Never delete dinput8.dll from the game folder. It belongs to the randomizer.

• Both mods redirect saves. A randomized run played through Crowd Control keeps its progress in the Crowd Control save folder.

• Use a fresh character for randomized runs.

Game Version

• Built for the latest Steam version of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (1.03).

• Playing a different version? Message us on the Crowd Control Discord and we will take a look.

Notes

• Crowd Control saves to its own folder: %APPDATA%\DarkSoulsIICrowdControl.

• An in-game overlay shows running effects and viewer names.

• Press F8 to show or hide the overlay.

• Press F9 to force a reconnect if the connection drops.

• The overlay needs borderless or windowed mode. It cannot draw over exclusive fullscreen.

• A support log is written next to the game executable as darksouls2_cc_tcp.log.

Uninstall

• Use the trash icon next to the game in the Crowd Control app.

• The uninstaller never touches dinput8.dll, so a randomizer install is left intact.
