Getting Started

New to Crowd Control? Check out the

or check our

1. Start with the App

  • Open the Crowd Control Desktop App

  • Select Crash Team Racing from the game list

  • Click Path Selected and choose (or create) an empty folder where you want CTR Native installed

  • Follow the Auto Setup checklist (left side of the app) to download and install the CTR Native build

2. Test Before You Stream

  • Add your own NTSC-U Crash Team Racing disc image as assets\ctr-u.bin inside your game folder

  • Launch the game with Launch Game in the app

  • Effects can only be tested after pressing Start Session in the app

  • Always test a few effects before going live

  • Skipping this can lead to broken streams and confusion!

Game Version

  • Requires your own NTSC-U retail copy of Crash Team Racing for PS1

  • The disc image must be a raw single-track BIN (MODE2/2352 sectors), named ctr-u.bin, inside an assets folder next to ctr_native.exe

  • A cooked 2048-byte ISO does not work. Audio and video need the XA sector data.

Mod Compatibility

  • CTR Native is a standalone Windows build of the game engine. It does not modify another game install.

  • The Crowd Control integration is built into the Auto Setup download

  • If you have issues, reinstall with the app's Auto Setup

Notes

  • The game connects to the app automatically once the opening credits finish

  • Save states: press F5 to save a quick state and F8 to load it

  • The Crowd Control desktop app is Windows-only, so this build is Windows-only too

Uninstall

  • In the CC desktop app, select your game

  • Click the trash icon next to Mod Installed to run the uninstaller

  • Your assets folder and disc image are not removed

Credits

  • Community pack by Esoteric-Engineer (GitHub)

  • Built on CTR Native by CTR-tools and the CTR-ModSDK decompilation project

  • Thanks to CDRomatron and Faradise for the original CTR Crowd Control projects
