CC Setup Guides

Alien: Isolation

Getting Started

New to Crowd Control? Check out the

or check our

1. Start with the App

  • Open the Crowd Control Desktop App

  • Select Alien: Isolation from the game list

  • Follow the Auto Setup checklist (left side of the app)

  • Auto Setup places a small connector file (winmm.dll) next to the game

2. Test Before You Stream

  • Effects can only be tested after pressing "Start Session" in the app

  • Always test a few effects before going live

  • Skipping this can lead to broken streams and confusion!

Mod Compatibility

  • The connector is a custom winmm.dll written for Alien: Isolation's CATHODE engine

  • Tested against Steam build 4940658

  • Other mods may work, but are not tested with Crowd Control

  • MotherVR is not compatible. The VR mod owns the camera, and the connector has not been tested with it

  • If you have issues, try with just Crowd Control

  • Mod package: AlienIsolation-CC.zip

Game Version

  • Tested with the Steam version of the game

  • Other game stores may work but have not been tested

  • Want another store supported? Submit a request in our Discord, #cc-requests

Notes

  • Effects unlock once Ripley reaches Sevastopol (after the intro missions). During the intro, every effect is refused with a message that the pack unlocks after the intro

  • This pack is in field testing. Effects may malfunction. Report anomalies in the Crowd Control Discord (bugs/requests)

  • The connector writes a log file next to the game: alienisolation_cc_tcp.log. Send it to us when reporting an issue

  • Run the game in windowed or borderless mode for the on-screen overlay

  • Overlay style can be changed in CrowdControl.ini next to the game (Flavor=full, minimal, or off)

Uninstall

  • In the CC desktop app, select your game

  • Click the trash icon next to "Mod Installed" to run the uninstaller

  • Manual cleanup: delete winmm.dll, CrowdControl.ini, ccver, and the cc-armed file next to AI.exe
